BSN IBG transfers made before 2:00 pm on a business day arrive in the recipient's account the same day. Transfers made after 2:00 pm, or on weekends and public holidays, arrive the next business day by 11:00 am. The exact crediting time depends on PayNet's batch processing windows, and the fee is RM0.10 per transaction through myBSN or BSN ATMs.

IBG (Interbank GIRO) is the electronic fund transfer service operated by PayNet that lets you move money from your BSN account to any other Malaysian bank. Unlike instant transfers, IBG is processed in batches throughout the business day, which is why the arrival time depends on when you make the transfer.

BSN IBG Transfer Time: PayNet Crediting Schedule

These are the current PayNet crediting windows for IBG transfers made through myBSN internet banking on a business day (Monday to Friday):

  • Before 5:00 am: credited by 11:00 am the same day
  • 5:01 am to 8:00 am: credited by 5:00 pm the same day
  • 8:01 am to 11:00 am: credited by 8:20 pm the same day
  • 11:01 am to 2:00 pm: credited by 11:00 pm the same day
  • 2:01 pm to 5:00 pm: credited by 11:00 am the next business day
  • After 5:00 pm: credited by 11:00 am the next business day

The 2:00 pm mark is the practical cut-off to remember. Anything sent after it only reaches the recipient the next business day.

IBG on Weekends and Public Holidays

IBG transfers made on Saturday, Sunday or a public holiday, at any hour, are credited on the next business day by 11:00 am. Refunds for unsuccessful transactions made on non-business days are returned by 5:00 pm on the next business day.

IBG BSN to Maybank, CIMB and Other Banks

The schedule above applies regardless of the receiving bank. An IBG transfer from BSN to Maybank, CIMB, Bank Islam or any other Malaysian bank follows the same PayNet windows, so "IBG to Maybank berapa hari" has the same answer: same day if sent before 2:00 pm on a business day, next business day by 11:00 am otherwise. If you transfer to Maybank regularly, the guide on cara transfer BSN ke Maybank compares all the available methods.

BSN IBG Fees and Transfer Limits

BSN charges among the lowest IBG fees allowed under Bank Negara Malaysia's pricing framework:

  • myBSN internet banking: RM0.10 per transaction, limit RM10,000 per transaction
  • BSN ATM: RM0.10 per transaction, combined limit up to RM50,000
  • Over the counter: RM2.00 per transaction, combined limit up to RM1 million (shared with IBFT)

IBG vs DuitNow: Which Should You Use?

If the recipient needs the money immediately, skip IBG and use DuitNow BSN transfer instead. DuitNow is credited within seconds at any time, including weekends and public holidays. IBG wins on cost (RM0.10) and higher counter limits, so it suits salary payments, bill settlements and any transfer where same-day or next-day arrival is acceptable.

How to Check BSN IBG Transfer Status

Log in to myBSN and open your transaction history. A completed IBG transfer shows as successful with its reference number. If the status shows pending, the transfer is waiting for the next PayNet processing window. If funds have not arrived after the scheduled window has passed, contact BSN customer service at 03-2613 1900 (8:00 am to 10:00 pm) with the transaction reference number.

Can a BSN IBG Transfer Be Cancelled?

Only before it is processed. Once the transfer enters a PayNet processing window, it cannot be recalled, so double-check the recipient's account number and bank before confirming. If you entered the wrong details, call BSN immediately. Transfers to invalid or closed account numbers are refunded automatically following the PayNet refund schedule.
